Balussery to get mini civil station

The work of a mini civil station building at Balussery in the district is likely to commence soon. All government offices functioning in Balussery in the district will be shifted to the mini civil station on completion of the work.

KOZHIKODE: The work of a mini civil station building at Balussery in the district is likely to commence soon. All government offices functioning in Balussery in the district will be shifted to the mini civil station on completion of the work.
The work of mini civil station will be completed by the building division of the public works department. The detailed project report for the mini civil station was also prepared by the PWD.
The mini civil station will be constructed at the one acre land owned by the revenue department.

The project has received administrative sanction.
"The DPR has received administrative sanction and we hope to get technical sanction for the project soon," said Purushan Kadalundi MLA. The aim is to complete the tender process immediately on getting the technical sanction, he said.
At present, various government offices in Balussery are functioning at different rented buildings. All the buildings will come under a single roof on realisation of the project.
The sub treasury office, sub registrar office, employment office, excise office will be shifted to the mini civil station. Besides, agriculture office, village office and the office of the Integrated Child Development Scheme will also get better space with the construction of the mini civil station.

The DPR was prepared following the direction of Purushan Kadalundi, Balussery MLA. The estimated cost for the construction of the building is Rs 15 crore.
The plan is to construct a four-story building with two basement floors. Sub registrar office, sub treasury office will operate in the ground floor.
Employment office, homeopathic dispensary and agriculture office will be allotted space in the first floor and ICDS additional office, Excise office, Village office and AEO office will get space in the second floor. The third floor will have a conference hall.
The first basement will be used as parking floor and the second basement will accommodate canteen, kitchen, generator room and electrical room, said an official with the PWD.
